Ring assignments will be available on the day of the tournament. Please check the assignment sheets posted in the registration pick-up area.

All sparring divisions will be separated by gender, with male and female categories. Any divisions with 20 or more competitors may be split at the discretion of the promoters or arbitrator. Divisions with only two (2) or fewer competitors may be combined with other divisions at the discretion of the promoters or arbitrator.

All participants in sparring divisions must wear approved safety equipment, including:

• Head
• Hand
• Feet
• Shin guards
• Mouth guard
• Groin protector for male competitors.

This safety equipment is mandatory for all participants in sparring divisions.

Competitors must compete at the highest ranked belt they have achieved.

To be eligible for the "Grand Champions Belt" at the tournament, competitors must meet the following requirements:

1. Compete only in their respective age category.
2. Place 1st in each of the "Weapons," "Forms," and "Sparring" divisions for their age and belt group (excluding "Creative/Musical/Open" categories).
3. Have at least five (5) competitors registered in each division
4. This applies to Kyu/coloured belts and black belts.

By registering for Karate Maynia 2025, you agree to the following consent policy:

Health and Safety: You understand that martial arts involves physical contact and may result in injury. You confirm that you, or the competitor you are registering, are physically fit and able to participate in this tournament. You acknowledge that you are responsible for your, or your competitors, own health and safety during the tournament, and that you  and the competitor will follow all instructions from the tournament officials and comply with the rules and regulations of the tournament.

Photography and Videography: You, and all parties in attendance, consent to being photographed and/or recorded during the tournament, and that any photographs or recordings may be used by the tournament organizers for promotional purposes.

Medical Treatment: You authorize the tournament officials to provide or arrange for any necessary medical treatment in the event of injury or illness during the tournament.

Waiver of Liability: You acknowledge that participation in martial arts tournaments involves inherent risks and you accept those risks. You release the tournament organizers, their agents, and employees from any liability for injury or damages you may sustain as a result of your, or the competitor being registered, participation in the tournament.

Code of Conduct: You agree to conduct yourself in a respectful and sportsmanlike manner during the tournament. You will comply with all tournament rules and regulations, and will not engage in any behaviour that could be considered unsportsmanlike or inappropriate.

By registering for Karate Maynia 2025, you confirm that you have read and understand this consent policy, and agree to all of its terms on behalf of your self or as guardian/parent of the youth competitor.
